Mamie Lucille Struble, 83, rural Minneapolis, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at the Ottawa County Health Center in Minneapolis. She was born September 9, 1925 on the Werner family homestead west of Bennington, the daughter of John M. and Ethel Madden Werner. She attended the Dutch Hill country school. Mamie was united in marriage to John Lawrence Struble August 10, 1949 at Minneapolis. All their married life was spent in the Bennington area. Her husband preceded her in death April 27, 1999. She was a domestic housekeeper for many people in Bennington and worked at the Bennington Café for a number of years. She was a member of the Bennington Senior Center. Survivors include a son James Struble and his wife Patty of Minneapolis; a daughter Janie and her husband Art Cooper of Bennington; grandchildren Jason Cossaart and his wife Linda, Waylon Cossaart, Andy Cooper and his wife Carol and Aaron Cooper and his wife Jennifer and great-grandchildren Dylan and Alayna Cossaart and Allison and Adyson Cooper. Mamie was preceded in death by two brothers, Leonard Werner and Harold "Sam" Werner and a sister Barbara Lott. The family suggests memorials to the Bennington Fire Department, the United Church of Bennington, or the Bennington Ambulance Fund.
