Captain Gratis served with the U.S. Army
Air Corps at Hunter Field, Savannah, Ga.
He was killed in the line of duty in the
crash of B-26C Marauder #41-35142, nine
miles southwest of Hartselle, Alabama.
Son of Joseph Gratis.
