Solomon Martin a ship carpenter, was born about 1619 (aged 19 on 13 July 1635). He came ro Gloucester MA in 1635 on the James, and moved to Andover by 1652.
He first married Mary PINDAR 21 Mar 1642/3. He married second, 18 Jun 1648, Alice VARNHUM/FARNUM/ FARNHAM, widow of Ralph Farnham. Stepfather of Mary (Farnham) Poor.

First settled in Gloucester MA; moved to Andover by 1652. Died after about 1655.
MARRIAGES: (1) Gloucester 21 March 1643 Mary Pinder, daughter of HENRY PINDER {1635, Ipswich} ("Solloman Marten, ship carpenter, and Marie Pindor, daughter Henrie"). She died at Gloucester on 9 January 1648.
(2) Gloucester 18 June 1648 Alice (_____) Farnham, widow of RALPH FARNHAM {1635, Ipswich} ("Solloman Martin, ship carpenter, and Ales Varnam, widow of Ipswich").
After a brief cluster of records in 1652 shortly after his move to Andover, Solomon Martin does not appear again in New England records. On 25 March 1662, his second wife reported that he had "been gone out of the country six or seven years," indicating that he had departed about 1655. This record does not indicate whether he had been lost on a sea voyage or had abandoned the family.
