ALBERT SOEFJE (1867-1957), son of Heinrich and Marianna 'Anna' (Willmann) Soefje, was born on the farm at Neighborsville, Comal County on March 9, 1867 with a twin that died within a few days. He was baptized Albert Christian Robert Henry Soefje on June 10, 1867 at St. Martin's Lutheran Church. Godparents were H. Henke (Albert's cousin who had recently immigrated from Dölme, Germany), Christian Hansmann (also from the Soefje hometown of Dölme), Heinrich Timmermann, and his Mother's sister, Caroline (Willmann) Stein . Albert shared the routine work of the farm as a boy while he attended the public schools. There was nothing extraordinary in his life until he began to notice some of the girls and decided to have one for a life companion. He had his eye set on a young lady named Miss ANNA ROSE (1871-1953), who was born March 17, 1871 in Comal County. On January 23, 1897, they were married in Comal County, and they made their home on a farm a short distance northeast of New Braunfels. Here their eleven children were born to bless their home. They shared a life that had its many ups and downs; its pleasures as well as its sorrows. Then on August 14, 1953 in Comal County, Anna passed on to her reward to the better home. Albert Sr. retired from active farming but lived on the same farm with his son James. Here the friends and relatives were always welcome visitors. He passed away on December 21, 1957 in Comal County. Albert and Anna are buried in Comal Cemetery.

Albert SOEFJE, Sr. was a son of Heinrich "Hy" "Henry" SOEFJE and Anna WILLMANN, both of Germany.

He was married to Anna (ROSE) SOEFJE.
