Bruce was born February 8, 1930 to Raymond and Doris Finch Bachellor.
Bruce retired after twenty years in the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean War. He also retired from the Postal Service after twenty years. He was very active in the American Legion Argonne Post #60, Air Force Association and Gold Star Museum.
His loves were sailing, University of Iowa football, and the Dallas Cowboys.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Deone Bachellor and daughters, Peggy Eskew (Charles) and Susan Gabriele (Al), and two grandchildren. Bruce is also survived by a brother Merlin, and a sister, Clarice Borrill. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Paul.
In lieu of flowers the family requested memorials be directed to the Gold Star Museum in honor of Bruce.
