Jeannie Ludewig Goynes, 76, died on Jan. 26, 2009.

She was born to F.W. (Bill) Ludewig and Vesterline Dennison Ludewig on Oct. 31, 1932 in Corpus Christi.

She was married on Nov. 6, 1949 to John Daniel Goynes in Three Rivers. She was a retired Assistant County Auditor and was a member of the St. George Catholic Church.

She is survived by two sons Bill (Patricia) Goynes of LaVernia, and Mike (Yolanda) Goynes of George West; four daughters Beth (Doug) Wallek of Ben Bolt, Becky Stancik of George West, Kathy (Rodney) Kolb of Three Rivers, and Bridget (Jimmy) Eichman of Goliad; 17 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and one sister Cora (Lloyd) Clendenen of Three Rivers.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, John Goynes Jr.; great grandson, Rory Jacob Henkin; and son-in-law, Eddie Stancik.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, Jan. 27, from 5-9 p.m. at the Galloway & Sons Chapel in George West, rosary followed at 7 p.m.

Funeral will be held (today) Wednesday, Jan. 28, at 2 p.m. at the St. George Catholic Church in George West, with burial following at the Gussettville Cemetery in the Gussettville Community with Fr. George Johnson officiating.
