Wade Jordan Dies August 5 After Illness
Wade Hampton Jordan, Route 2, Edenton, died August 5 at Chowan Hospital following an extended illness. He was 73.
Mr. Jordan was a retired auto mechanic and merchant.
He was a native of Chowan County, the son of the late Alphonzo and Pattie Harrell Jordan. He was married to Mrs. Louise S. Jordan, who survives.
Also surviving is a son, Dr. Wade H. JOrdan, Jr., of ELizabeth City; a brother, Skinner B. Jordan of Elizabeth; five sisters: Mrs. Ruth Spivey and Mrs. Dora Johnson, both of Suffolk, Va.; Mrs. Hilda Brown of Asheville; Mrs. Alma Brickhouse of Elizabeth City; and Mrs. Helen Munden of Norfolk, Va.; and seven grandchildren.
Mr. Jordan was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Bethel Ruritan Club and Order of Redmen.
Graveside services were held at 3 P.M. Saturday in Beaver Hill Cemetery with Rev. Stanley Nixon officiating.
Williford-Barham Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
