Elizabeth Fowler Farrington, 90, of the Nottingham, passed away Saturday after a long illness. She and her husband of 66 years, "Charlie," have resided all their lives in Syracuse and Pompano Beach, Florida. "Betty" graduated from Nottingham High School in 1936 and then attended Skidmore College and later attended Syracuse University, from which she graduated in 1940. She was the daughter of Helen C. Fowler and George W. Fowler, for whom Fowler High School is named. Her brother, Burton C. Fowler (Marie), died in 2000. Betty was a lifelong parishioner of St. Therese Church (now All Saints), where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and served as president for two terms. She was president of Drumlin's Women's Golf Club and a member of Syracuse Women's District Golf Association and Onondaga Golf and Country Club. She and her husband were active members of the Syracuse University Orange Pack and S.U. football programs. She was secretary of the S.U. Alumni Association and volunteered for several years for Meals on Wheels. She is survived by her husband, Charles; two daughters, Lynne Allen (George) of Windham Center, CT, and Nancy Dunaway (David) of Oakton, VA; a son, Charles Jr. (Anne) of Chestnut Hill, MA; a nephew, Burton P. Fowler (Christina) of Yardley, PA; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Services will be Monday, February 16, at 10 a.m. at All Saints Church (St. Therese). Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Dewitt, NY. Calling hours will be Sunday (today) from 2 to 4 p.m. at Burns-Garfield Funeral Home. Contributions may be made to All Saints Church or the George W. Fowler Scholarship Fund at Fowler High School.
