Bill was born November 4, 1926 in Braman, Oklahoma to Billey Edwin and Lelia Fern (Smith) Chambers. Bill was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict, serving with the U.S. Army and Paratroopers, form 1945 to 1952, ranking as a platoon sergeant. He married Betty Joe Castleberry on June 6, 1960 in Wheeler, Texas. They moved to Ketchum form Tulsa in 1975. Bill and Betty owned and operated B and B Mechanic Shop in Ketchum for 20 years. He loved fishing for sand bass and crappie, feeding his animals, especially his seagulls.

The family includes; his wife, Betty of the home, his children, Bill Chambers, Jr. and wife Kay of Mounds, OK, Jimmy Hitchcock of Tulsa, Alan Chambers and wife Toby of Indiana, Gary Hitchcock of Ketchum, Ruth Bowers and husband Mike of Tulsa, Sandy Boiseau of Tulsa, Janet Males and husband Bud of Langley; sisters, Ida Mae Renfro of Pawhuska, Violet Gore of Stilwell, Geneva Teegarden of Tulsa, Hazel Coonrod of Vancouver, Washington; sixteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Preceding him in death were his parents, two children, Sharon Spencer (1986), Jackie Antle (2000), a great-grandson, Micah Males (1999), brothers, Dudley, Albert, Raymond, Glen, Johnny, and Floyd Chambers; sisters, Henrietta Richardson, Illa Calhoon, Pauline Crozier and Leora Chambers.
