Jeremiah Colvin, s/o John2 Colvin [John1] and Experience Lydia Dart, was born about 1716 in Providence Co., RI. He and Ruth Tucker, another Rhode Island native, were married 23 Jun 1739 in Scituate, Providence Co., RI.

They became the parents of four known children: Annah, Jabez, Levi and Lydia Colvin. All but Jabez, who died in Rhode Island, removed to Vermont in the mid-1770s. Jeremiah and Ruth's son Levi, their grandson David Niles and two sons-in-law [Stukely Thornton and Thomas Pell] served in the Clarendon militia during the Revolutionary War.
