He was Swedish. His mother was Christina Olsen Sjoberg, and his father was Magnus Sjoberg. He married Hilda Nystrom on April 12 1905 when they were both 22 in Mahoning Co Ohio. They had six children Belinda Eleanor Gunhilda (b. 1907 m. Harry Dixon), Violet (b. 1909 m. Al Kaiser), Ella (b 1911 m. Edward "Eddie" Pack), Pearl (b 1916 m. Paul Palmquist), Fern (m. Roy Logue), and George (b 1918 m. "Bunny"). He was plant manager (pipe fitter) for National Tube, and died in his sleep of a cerebral hemorrage.
He was reported to be the first person in McKeesport to have a car.

He was registered in World War 1 as living at 309 Oak Street in McKeesport. At 35, he was a Foreman Pipefitter at a Steel Tube Mill and married to Hilda. It says he had dark blue eyes and dark brown hair, was of medium height, and was stout. This was reported on Sept 12, 1918. He also used the middle name Bernard on this form.

Obituary Monday October 18, 1926, McKeesport Daily News:

Oscar B Sjoberg, a pipe fitter at the National Tube Company for 29 years, died this morning at ? o'clock at his home 289 Lime Street (death cert says 309 Lime Street). Death was due to complications from which he had been ailing for about two years. He was born in this city on January 31, 1882 and was 43 years, eight months and 18 days old. He was a member of the Alias Lodge b(?) 125 O of O.
Surviving him are the following: his widow, Mrs. Hilda Nystrom Sjoberg, five daughters and one son, Mrs. Harry Dixon Jr., Mrs. Albert Kaiser, both of McKeesport, Ella, Pearl, Fern and George Sjoberg, all at home; his father, Magnus Sjoberg; two sisters, Mrs. Oliver Kitchen of Jeannette, and Mrs. William Rydell of McKeesport.
