She grew to womanhood in Pennsylvania, and on April 12, 1883, was united in marriage to William Franklin Slagle of New Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, a son of Daniel D. and Anna(Herring) Slagle.

In her early youth she was united with the Baptist Church, and at the time of her death she was a member of the St. Frances Methodist Church.
Funeral services were conducted from the home of her daughter, Mrs. Pearl DeGood, on Friday morning, July 24, 1942. Rev. Paul Hantla, of the St. Frances Methodist Church officiated.
Interment followed in the Wheeler Cemetery, Cheyenne County, Kansas.
