Geraldine "Shug" Dillahunt, of Linden, New Jersey, formerly of the Longpoint Community, Maysville, NC, died at Saint Michaels Hospital, Newark, New Jersey. She was a graduate of Jones Senior High School, Trenton, NC and also attended Winston-Salem State University, Winston Salem, NC where she majored in Nursing. She was employed in the field of Social Services helping those with developmental disabilities. She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in New Jersey where she served as Financial Secretary and in the Nurses Ministry. Geraldine was blessed to have two sets of parents. In her infancy, her mother granted her the opportunity to be raised by her Uncle and Aunt, March and Rubie Dillahunt, who raised her as their own child.

A Homegoing Service was held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 20, 2007 in the Saint James A.M.E. Zion Church. Interment in the Dillahunt Cemetery, Longpoint Community.
