CLIFFORD "KIP" ADKINS JR., 60, of Franklinton, N.C., formerly of Braeholm, WVa., died January 23, 2009. He was born in Huntington, WVa., and was a 1968 graduate of Man High School. Kip was a retired coal miner with Pittston Coal Company. He enjoyed playing guitar and attended the Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his father, Clifford Adkins, and his niece, MaDonna Rae Adkins. Survivors include his mother, Melita Adkins Wooten and husband Ervin of East Lynn, WVa.; two sisters, Yvonne Conn and husband Terry of Amherstdale, W.Va., and Patty Adkins of East Lynn. Also surviving is his wife, Mary Linda Adkins; two sons, Richard Lee Adkins and wife Beki, and Damon Adkins and wife Angie; one grandson, Kevin, all of Franklinton, and a host of friends and family.
