John Kubick
February 21, 1941 - March 1, 2008

John Kubick was taken home by our Heavenly Father March 1st, 2008 at the VA Medical Center in Grand Junction, CO, surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was 67. John was born February 21st, 1941 to John and Angela Kubick in Greeley, CO. John graduated high school in Greeley, CO and from there he joined the Army Airborne 173rd Division. He attended Boot Camp at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs, CO, then on to Fort Benning, GA for the rest of his training. From there John was stationed in Okinawa, Japan where he made most of his 50 jumps. While there John earned his second degree black belt Karate, at the original SubiKan studio. John achieved expert (Rifle M-1), expert (Rifle M-14), and his Parachute badge. John also served in the 5-19 Special Forces Reserve from 1976-1979. Once John returned from active duty, he met and married the love of his life, Joan Hamilton, in 1965 and had a family (Johnny, Cynthia, Steven and Angela) raising them in Arvada, CO until John moved the family to Grand Junction, CO around 1980. John eventually started his own business, ACJJJS Service Company and continued to raise his family in the area. In later years John and Joan divorced. In 2004, Joan passed away while still being the love of John's existence. John continued with his business in Grand Junction, CO while raising his older children. In addition to raising his children, John also raised his granddaughter, Christina Kubick, since she was one years old. John had been a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. He enjoyed many things in his free time, especially activities in the beautiful outdoors. He loved exploring nature, finding fossils, photography, and even paint balling with his children, grandchildren, and their friends. His grandchildren kept him young and full of energy. He was always there with his wonderful wisdom to help them however he could, encouraging them to make right choices in their lives! Family functions (school functions, BBQ's, holidays), and having his family around him were very important to him!!!! John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Angela Kubick.
