HONOR, David Early Sunday morning, Jan. 25, 2009, the call was given from Heaven for Dave Honor to come home and he is now safely in the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Daves 60 years of life was a true blessing for everyone who knew him. Dave was a man of God who lived what he believed and had such strength in his gentle manner. Daves faith is now sight, for he has seen the face of God. We, his family, will miss him with all our hearts and know that the next time we see him it will be forever. David Wayne Honor was born on August 22, 1948, in Watsonville, Calif., to Calvin and Louise (Blythe) Honor. Dave with his family moved to Palmdale when he was 3. Dave went all through school in Palmdale and graduated from Palmdale High in June of 1966. Dave worked for Lockheed as a numerically controlled lathe operator for 3 years. He worked for Edison for 12 years as a Serviceman/Troubleshooter. Dave worked for 20 years in his
own business as an electrical contractor as Honor Electric Company. In 1999, Dave began working at the City of Palmdale as their electrician. Dave loved his job and the people he worked with. Left to cherish his memory is the "love of his life" Sandie, his wife of 42 years, sons Darren and Dennis and daughter-in- law, Diana, granddaughter, Brittany, grandsons, Blake and Aiden, his mother, Louise Honor, sister Cheryl and husband Tom Brown, brother John and wife Barbara Honor, father and mother-in-law, Jack and Marlene Garrett, sister-in-law, Jackie Johnson, and numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews and many friends. Daves joy was his family and they all knew how much he loved them by the way he made each one feel special. Dave, being such a humble man, had no idea what an impact his life had on so many. We are certain that our Lord greeted Dave by saying "Well done thy good and faithful servant, enter thou into the joy of the Lord." (Matthew 25:21) "For to me to live is Christ and to die is gain." (Phil) 1:21. Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m., Friday, Jan. 30, 2009, with funeral services to be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009, both at Chapel of the Valley Mortuary, Palmdale. Interment to follow at Desert Lawn Memorial Park. Email condolences to the family at [email protected]. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mr. Honors name to the Exotic Feline Breeding Compound, 3718 60th St. W. Rosamond, Calif. 93560-0084. Chapel of the Valley Mortuary Palmdale Directors.
