Graveside services for Mr. W. C. "Clint" Lewis will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, May 16, 2008, at Rosefield Church Cemetery in Rosefield, LA., with Eric Keesley officiating. Interment will under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena.
Mr. Lewis, 87, of Lancaster, PA., was born May 5, 1921 in Winn Parish, and passed from this life on May 13, 2008, at Lancaster, PA. He entered the Coast Guard in 1942 and completed his tour of duty in 1945. He and Nell Ruth Chapman were married September 2, 1943 in Curry, LA. They lived in Louisiana until late 2007. Clint was a school teacher having taught at Harrisonburg, Transylvania, Vidalia, Kelly and Grayson. He also coached basketball.
He is survived by his wife, Nell Ruth Chapman Lewis of Lancaster, PA.; Four sons, Wallace of Lancaster, PA., Ivan of Metairie, LA., Jay and Robert both of West Monroe, LA.; One daughter, Rebecca Housley of Monroe, LA.; Sixteen Grandchildren and Nine Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Fannie Pearl McCartney Lewis and daughter, Trena Cheryl Alvarez.
Pallbearers will be Jay Shannon Lewis, Robert Dell Lewis, Shannon Michael Lewis, Tony Taylor, Johnny Cole and Lance Tullos.
