ROY L. STARR
Roy L. Starr, 1108 NW 19, an independent oil operator of Oklahoma City since 1930, died Monday in his home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Guardian Funeral Home with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Born November 27, 1889 near Quaker City, Ohio, he came to Oklahoma City with his family in October, 1899, settling eight miles southwest of Yukon. He attended Southwestern State College at Weatherford and graduated from Capitol City Business College, Guthrie. He worked for Carter Oil Co., Tulsa, and in the Dutch East indies for Standard Oil Co. He was a Methodist, a 32nd degree member of Petroleum Lodge 374 at Tulsa.
Survivors include his wife, Dora, of the home; two daughters, Mrs. C H. Guernsey jr.. and Mrs. Louis Binning, both of Oklahoma City; five sisters, Mrs. Gracy Lowrey, Longview, Texas; Mrs. Elinor McVay, Mrs. Willis Hogue, Mrs, Bianche Manley, and Mrs. Earl Sadler, all of Oklahoma City, and five grandchildren.
