Edward Brownawell, 69, of 650 North College Street, Carlisle, died early this morning at Carlisle Hospital.
He was the husband of Mrs. Rebecca Sipe Brownawell.
He was the son of the late Edward and Mary Horn Brownawell and resided in Carlisle most of his life.
He was formerly employed at C.H. Masland and Sons, retiring several years ago. He attended Bethel Assembly of God Church, was a member of the White Circle Club, the Cumberland Fire Company and the Cumberland County Fireman's Association.
He is survived by his widow; two sons, Sylvester W., York, and Jack E., Baltimore, Md.; one daughter, Mrs. Charles (Nancy) York, of Spring Road, Carlisle; a brother, Harry E., Carlisle RD5; four sisters, Mrs. Anna F. McClintock, Mrs. Eliza E. McClintock and Mrs. Kathryn Lightner, all of Carlisle, and Mrs. Harvey (Ruth McClain, Harrisburg; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover Street, Carlisle. The Rev. John D. Castellani will officiate. Burial will be in the Opossum Hill Union Church Cemetery in Lower Frankford Township. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
