Christopher moved to Fairfield County, Ohio, with his parents when he was 24 years old (in 1827).

He married Catharine CORFMAN in Fairfield Co., Ohio, on August 5, 1827.

In about 1833, he and Catharine moved to Wyandot County where he purchased farmland in Tymochtee Township.

With Catharine, Christopher had nine children: Magdelena, George, Catharine, Barbara, Conrod, Mary, Lydia, Sarah, and Elizabeth, who died as an infant. Catharine died in August 1851.

He secondly married, and his second wife's first name also was Catharine; she was born Catharine LEIST, the daughter of Andrew LEIST and Catherine YOTTER. When they married, Christopher's second wife was the widow of Hiram ANDERSON (by whom she had three children: Harriet, James, Susannah, and Sarah).

Christopher and his second wife had three children; the marriage ended in divorce sometime before 1870 when the second wife was living in Tymochtee Township, Wyandot Co., Ohio, with their three children: Josephus, Hiram, and Adella (or "Cordelia").

After the divorce, Christopher made his home with his oldest daughter, Magdelena (Mrs. Lemar WALTON).

He is on the 1880 census, in Wyandot Co., Ohio, in Tymochtee Township. He is listed as divorced, and he is living with a 21-year-old hired-hand named Landon BILGER. Listed next to Christopher on the census (in a separate household) is Lydia HUFFORD (age 32) and her 10-year-old son. Likely, that was his daughter Lydia who had married Linus GIBSON and may have gone back to her maiden name after the divorce.

Christopher's ex-wife is found on the 1880 census, also in Tymochtee Township, Wyandot County. She is living with their son, 19-year-old Hiram HUFFORD, with their daughter, 17-year-old Adella C. HUFFORD, and with a 10-year-old boy named Hiram HAMMOND who is identified as a grandson. Ironically, Christopher's ex-wife reported herself as widowed.

Christopher was a member of the United Brethren church, having been baptized in 1837.

Christopher is listed on page 168 of the 1909 HUFFORD FAMILY HISTORY.
