Obituary:
John W. Dovenspike, son of Philip and Mary (Rambo)Dovenspike, was born in Richland, Iowa, on Apr 3, 1881, and passed away Feb 12 1949, at the home of his brother-in-law C. C. Churchill.
He moved from Richland to Lucas County, IA, where he spent the remaining years of his life.
He was an employee of the Chariton Ice Co. for thirty-three years, during which time he served faithfully until ill health forced his retirement. He was a loyal friend to all who knew him and will be missed by this many friends. Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Mae Bowman, of Marysville, Iowa, one half sister, Mrs. Elvisha Jones, of Benton Sports, Iowa, and one brother, Frank Dovenspike, of Laramie, Whoming. Also many nieces and newphews.
Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 14, 1949, conducted by Rev. John Spencer from the Miley funeral home. Interment in Chariton Cemetery.
