|Ethel B Shatto|
|Birth: ||Jun. 6, 1879|
|Death: ||Apr. 13, 1896|
Daughter of John W Shatto and Margaret McCall
Ethel came from a large family of 11 children, not all of whom lived to adulthood . Her father was a coal miner at a time when that life was tough, gritty and dangerous. Her father was killed in a mine accident - run over by a coal car in 1911.
Her family was beset with tragedies, including her death from TB at a young age. Her mother had problems as per Ethel's obituary and one of her brothers, Ed, also had similar problems, dying in an asylum hospital in the 1940's. Some speculation that physical decline and sometimes mental problems due to Huntington's disease may be a factor as there is a cluster of early deaths in this family over generations.
