Basim, age 43, widowed, a miller, born in Ohio to a father from Pennsylvania and a mother from Ohio; Alice A., age 20, born in Ohio to parents from Ohio; Lottie A., age 18; Linnie M., age 11; Lucy L, age 8; and Susan E., age 6.
She married John Howard Haddow in 1883 and would have at least four children, all born in Barlow, Ohio (Washington County): Dora Amanda Haddow, born December 12, 1885; Donald Basim Haddow, born August 2, 1892; Ray H. Haddow, born October 19, 1893, and an infant son, born February 27, 1895.
Alice died in 1898 and her children were sent to live with relatives. Donald was adopted by one of Alice's younger sisters, Linnie Basim and her husband Rufus W. Athey. Ray and Dora, according to the 1900 Federal Census for Barlow, Ohio (Washington County) were living with their 32 year-old uncle, Alice's brother, Charles Basim.
Within two years of her death, her husband remarried and moved to Columbus, Ohio (Franklin County).
