Once more we bow in sorrow to the edict of the Father who in mercy "doeth all things well", who has taken from this earth life the beloved and familiar figure of Isabel F. Stock lovingly known among her friends as grandma Stock, wife of R. W. Stock.
While she has been in ill health for some two years past, she had been much improved this past summer and had been able to enjoy visits to her relatives and friends in Utah and Idaho.
However, on Wednesday October 24th she suffered a heart attack and though her condition was thought to be improved death came suddenly and peacefully Friday evening, October 26th thus terminating a life filled with faithfullness and service.
Never were the words "To Know Her Was To Love Her" more aptly employed than in this instance.
Her cheerfulness and beauty of mind and spirit radiated to those about her. Her beautiful mother love extended to all those who came in contact with her, and her loving, watchful care hovered over boys and girls who so often sought her wise counsel and advice.
Isabel F. Stock was born in Salt Lake City January 1st 1857, the daughter of Hugh W. and Catherine Findlay. In the year 1875 she was united in marriage to R. W. Stock who survives her. To this union were born six children five of whom survive her. The are Ernest of Oakland California, Wallace F; Harold; and Mrs Maude Nield of Afton and Lawrence of Salt Lake City.
She also reared the daughter of her deceased daughter, Mrs Hyrum Michaelson form early childhood.
In addition to the duties involved in the rearing of her family she has always been actively engaged in assisting in church auxiliary organizations.
For 25 years prior to coming to Star Valley to make her home, she was a worker in the Primary organization of fish Haven, 20 years of which she was president of the association. Upon her arrival here responsibilities were again placed upon her and for 11 years she was president of the Relief Society of the Afton Ward. When the Afton ward was divided she was made a member of the Relief Society Stake Board, which position she held until the change to the present organization.
Although her health in the recent years has not permitted her to be actively engaged in church work she has always maintained a keen interest in the church affairs, and her counsel has often been sought by those who held responsible positions in the organizations.
Her religion was a virile buoyant part of her life, and her faith and testimony were predominant factors.
Funeral services were held Wednesday October 31st.
Bp. George S. Kennington conducted the services.
Prayers were by C.C. Leavitt and L.C. Jensen.
Musical number rendered by the choir were "Prayer is the Soul's Sincere Desire", "O My Father" and "Sister Thou Wast Mild and Lovely" with a chorus from the Relief society.
