First wife of William Henry Barnard, son of Jacob and Rutha Barnard. William Henry Barnard is buried in Elm Grove Cemetery,Cadmus,Liberty Twp, Linn Co, KS along with his 2nd wife, Frances Avey Arnold Barnard 1823-1876. William Henry and Martha Ruyle Barnard were married 27 June 1841 in Greene Co. IL License #1711. Their known children were: John Elvis Barnard 1841-1917,Rutha Jane Barnard Hopper 1842-1886, Mary A. Barnard Hopper 1845-1928 and Minerva Barnard Greenwood 1847-Abt.1873. It is believed that Martha died as a result of childbirth as her death was one day after Minerva's birth.
