GLENWOOD - Ms. Faye C. Hartley, 90, of Alamo, died Monday, January 12, 2009. She was a long time resident of Wheeler County, a retired teacher of thirty six years, employee of the Wheeler County Department of Family and Children's Services for ten years where she also served on the board, member of the Alamo First Baptist Church, long time Sunday School Teacher and WMU Director, chairman of the Alamo City Cemetery Committee, member of Eastern Star and The Garden Club.
Ms. Hartley was a very dedicated and well loved member of her community.
The family will receive friends at Towns Funeral Home Friday, January 16, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M., Saturday, January 17, 2009 at the Alamo First Baptist Church with Rev. Kyle Woodfin and Rev. Robert Woodall officiating. Interment will follow in the Alamo City Cemetery.
Ms. Hartley is survived by her son, Wesley (Gerry) Hartley of Alamo; three grandsons, Tim (Alicia) Hartley, Charles (Lori) Hartley, and Ben (Amy) Hartley; six great-grandchildren, Savannah, Addison, Ansley, Shelbi, Cooper, and Alli.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Hartley, and grandson, Kevin Hartley.
