Mrs. Myrtle Marie Williams, 78, of Poolesville, died Sunday, April 24, at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital, Rockville.

Born June 18, 1909, in Nebo, Va., she was a daughter of the late James C. and Flora Edna Atwell Tibbs.

Surviving are four daughters, Dorothy Mae Woods of Coles Point, Va., Mildred Virginia Cullop of Marion, Va., Ethel Jerlean Eader of Poolesville, Nancy Cathern Maus of Boonsboro; two sons, Delter Willis Catron of Clarksburg, Junior Legard Catron of Frederick; two sisters, Glaytha Virginia Jenkins and Thelma Louise Rhorback; six brothers, James Wiley Tibbs, Stanley Dewey Tibbs, Joseph Levon Tibbs, Arnold John Crockett Tibbs, Samuel Jackson Tibbs and Curtis Clark Cambell Tibbs; 19 grandchildren; a devoted nephew, Mervin Tibbs of Walkersville; devoted niece, Barbara Appleby of Hartsell, Ala.; and devoted foster daughter, Robin Brown of Gaithersburg.

She was predeceased by two husbands, Martin Luther Catron and Kelly Prevo Williams; one step-son, Raymond Luther Catron; three sisters, Zenola Iris Nell Atwell, Lula Geneva Boone and Alda Lea Werking; and two brothers, Newton Hicks Tibbs and Claude Airwood Tibbs.

Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, at the Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Road (Md. 109), Barnesville.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 27, at Poolesville Baptist Church, Wootton Avenue and West Willard, Poolesville. Interment will be in Monocacy Cemetery, Beallsville.
