MRS. WHITLOCK DIES AT HOME OF HER SISTER

Mrs. Catherine A. Whitlock, a pioneer lady of California, who spent most of her useful life in Tehama County passed away April 30, 1925, at the home of her sister, Mrs. Eleanor Mitchell in Orland.

She was born May 22, 1849, and with her parents crossed the plains in 1852. She was married to J. R. Whitlock, May 1, 1866.

Mrs. Whitlock was the mother of seven children, five of whom survive. They are H. C. Whitlock of Lathrop; Mrs. C. W. Griffin of Long Beach; F. E. Whitlock of Paskenta and Mrs. A. L. Cobb of Chico. The decedent leaves 22 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and the following sisters and a brother, Mrs. Lucy Goodrich of Vale, Oregon; Mrs. Eleanor Michell of Orland; Mrs. Frances Rice of Paskenta; Mrs. Sarah Miller, Mrs. Minnie Duncan of Paskenta and W. D. Markham of Oroville.

The body is at the Jones undertaking parlors in Corning. The funeral is to be held at Paskenta at 1 o'clock tomorrow afternoon and interment will be in the cemetery there.
