Julia Ann Frances (Wooden) Bunch was the daughter of Isaac and Rebecca "Margaret" Horben (Stephenson) Wooden. She married George W. Wolf in 1863, and to this union were born:

After the death of her first husband, she married Humphrey Nelson Bunch on 25 Mar 1872 in Carroll County, Missouri. To this union were born:

Julia Ann Frances Wooden, daughter of Isaac and Rebecca Wooden, was born March 5th, 1846 in Hill Township, Carroll County, Missouri, and departed this life Monday, May 27th, 1929, being 83 years, 2 months and 22 days of age. She was married to G.W. Wolf in 1866, and to this union one child was born, John I. Wolf. Mr. Wolf preceded her in death in 1869.
She was again united in marriage to Humphrey Bunch in 1872. To this union three sons were born. Jackson Bunch deceased, Henry Watson and Humphrey Nelson, both of near Dawn, Missouri.
She was converted and joined the M.E. Church when quite young. Later placing her membership in the Enon Baptist Church and lived a consistent member until called home. “Grandma Bunch” as she was called by old and young was a kind and loving mother and neighbor.
During her sickness she was very patient and was ready to go when the Heavenly Father Called her from her bed of affliction where she had laid for two months.
She leaves the following to mourn her passing: Three sons John I. Wolf, Henry Watson Bunch, Humphrey Nelson Bunch, and one step son, Wynona Bunch of Thermopolis, Wyoming; five grand children, seven great grand children, one brother Edward F. Wooden, and one sister, Mrs. Martha C. Marple of California.
The funeral services were held from the home today at 1:30 P.M. conducted by Rev. M.G. Burt and the remains were laid to rest in the Enon Cemetery beside those of her husband.
Mrs. Bunch was born and lived her entire life in Hill Township, where she strove and served and loved and was loved by a great circle of friends who sincerely regret her long suffering, and deeply mourn her death.
Humphrey Bunch (Julia’s second husband) was killed by Jesse Glover at age 43. Julia Bunch had many experience and hard times during her young married life. She was left a widow twice, and was left with four sons to raise, the youngest only 5 years old at the time of his father’s death. She had a hired girl, Laura Sperry Collier (who is still living in 1964 and past 100 years old). She helped with all the work. They took the clothes to the creek to wash. The hired girl received $1.25 a week for her work. She shopped at Plymouth, a little country store. She and her grand daughter Mary Bunch bought dress material for 3 cents a yard. She rode side saddle up the hollow and picked wild plums, mashed, and dried them for winter use.
