Dade, as many called him, knew him as a good provider for his family. He worked on a barge on the river, farmed, and raised hogs, cows and chickens. Dade and his wife Ollie, bought 80 acres of land in Jackson Co. Florida in the late 1880's or the early 1900's. Dade and his wife Ollie lost two babies; one from pneumonia and the other from an accident on a met(?) board in the yard. Life was hard with the banks all closing. They both worked during this time; Ollie worked with Doctor Lingo, delivering babies and helping with the sick and sewing clothes for the children. (Information passed down to me)

Dade was of medium height and medium build with black hair and brown eyes according to his WWI Draft Registration Card.

Married Olive Irabell Creamer October 22, 1896 in Washington County, Florida.

Age at Death: 89. Florida State Hospital. He was there for 4 months, 6 days. Besides having Senile Brain Disease, he had slipped out of his wheelchair, falling to the floor and fracturing his neck and right femur. His primary cause of death was bronchopneumonia.
