James H. Wagner, son of Wm. and Mary Harris Wagner, was born at Platteville, Wisc. March 29, 1875, and died at his home Jan. 15, 1960 at the age of 84 years.

He was married to Mary Polansky of Yorkton, Canada, Nov. 23, 1903. To this union 7 children were born. Preceding him in death were Willie, Etta, Elmer, Earl H. and Leo. Survivors include his wife, two sons, Willard and Donald both of Willow Springs, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A sister Pearl Wahlen of Raleigh, NC.

He was a veteran of the Spanish-American War, enlisting at the age of 23. He was discharged in 1899. He was commander of Capt. Wm. Hughes Spanish-American War Veterans Post 41 at one time. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 20, at the Cabool Faith and Hope Church with the Rev. Floyd Roberts officiating.

Burial was made in the National Cemetery at Springfield.

J.H. was my husband's grandfather & his siblings were: Adelphia Myrtle Wagner, Elmer Wagner, Fred Conrad Wagner, Ivan Otto Wagner, Ada Leona Wagner Belling, Edwin Earl Wagner, Edna Pearl Wagner Wahlen Kellett, & Carel Arthur "Mike" Wagner.
