She was born to Martin and Julia Roark, when she as a child they moved to South Dakota, she grew up in the Brookings Clear Lake areas.
She married J Platt Conrad in Aberdeen on Nov 10, 1932 and they lived in Brookings until they moved to Rapid City in 19387. The returned to
Brookings in 1940 and returned to Rapid City in 1951. Mary had lived here since.
She was survived by two sons Bruce in Rapid City and Philip in Westminster California, a sisters F Pearl Roark in Spokane WA, nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1968, five sisters and tow brothShe was born on the family farm near Happy Valley Village (Abandoned). Father lost the farm in the 1903 depression and subsequently moved to Trent, SD and then Clear Lake, SD which is where she met and married her husband. They moved to Brookings where her two sons were born and then Platt accepted a job in Rapid City, SD where both she and her husband died and are buried. Florence was a maternal Aunt.
