Lower gunner of B-24 "Taloa" (serial number 44-40716). Shot down and crashed near Hiroshima on 28 July 1945. Taken prisoner and held at the Chugoku Military Police Headquarters. Died with at least ten other Americans held prisoner of war in the atomic bomb blast at Hiroshima.
