Representing the United States National bank, H.L. Edmunds, president, made the following statement in tribute to Mr. McAlister:

"It is with deepest regret that I express the loss to this bank and to our community of our vice-president, Mr. Frank N. McAlister. He was respected and beloved by fellow officer and employees alike, a very kindly man, always ready to help a friend or befriend a stranger. Mr. McAlister was one of the original organizers of this bank, and was active in the management of the institution continuously from the time of its inception. This bank and our community will feel very keenly the loss sustained and our institution will always remember and greatly appreciate the valued service and personal character of Mr. McAlister, who for more that 20 years so (illegible) served his bank and its community."

O.N. Houglam, cashier of the First National bank said, "We were greatly shocked to hear of Mr. McAlister's sudden death.
