William married Juliann Higginbotham in Louisianna. Their next residence being Texas. They lived in the area of Spring Creek, Harris County, Texas. A few months before
they were expecting to go to Utah, Juliann died. A few months later, William then married widow Dorinda Moody Goheen. The children listed here are not of that 2nd marriage, but of William's first.
His marriage to Dorinda placed him in the position of being a step-father to her children. Sources read during my research left me with the feeling, Dorinda's adult children in later years, spoke unkindly of my 2nd great-grandfather William. But research didn't exactly provide an explanation with sufficient detail to identify why their words were so negative of him.
We have been unable to link Juliann and the other children of William and Juliann since burial locations were not standard especially for the children who died along the trail as well as the time period of those whose deaths came so early in Texas.
Their unlinked children being:
Martha (1835-1835)
Mary Jane (1838-1840)
Albert (1839-1853)
Benjamin (1843-1847)
John (1847-1853)
Alice (1849-1853)
