Ramona Monica Bender, the youngest of the thirteen children born to Charles P. Bender and Frances P. Hittner, was born on March 19, 1924, near Cornlea, Nebraska. Her family later lived for some time at Humphrey and Elgin, Nebraska, and it was in these three communities that she grew up and received her education. In 1943, her father moved to Omaha.

Ramona Detty, 76 of Colorado Springs, CO died on Christmas morning, 2000 at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs. She had been hospitalized for three days due to heart failure.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, December 29, 2000 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Colorado Springs. The Rev. Steve Parlet officiated.
Inturnment was at Fairview Memorial Cemetery in Colorado Springs.
Ramona was born March 19, 1924 at Cornlea, NE to Charles and Frances "Fannie" Bender. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic Grade School at Cornlea and High School in Humphrey, NE.
Following her graduation form high school she went to Omaha where she worked for a bank. Ten years later she moved to Colorado Springs, CO.
On January 13, 1951 she married Gordon Detty. Survivors include five children Roy and Mark of Colorado Springs, Steve of Grand Junction, CO and Joyce and Susan of Omaha, NE and one sister, Elvera Pierce of Tacoma, WA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon; five brothers, Theodore, Edward, Joseph, Clarence and Pete Bender and six sisters, Rose Bender, Elsie Bender, Irene Johnson, Lucina Bender, Helen Henggeler and Delores Bender.
