It seems everybody fries chicken differently. Fannie fried good chicken! A little darker. When I told her something, she often responded with "for pity sakes". On one occasion, she showed me a photo of her horse and buggy. As a little boy, accustomed to cars, it was something I couldn't grasp.
Fannie lost her husband, Lewis, in an elevator accident in 1935. Thirty years later, she slipped on some icy steps and broke her hip. That was the beginning of the end, with her spending her last five years in a nursing home.
This posting is to acknowledge she's..... NOT forgotten!
