RIMERSBURG – Harry Herbert Bowser, 91, of Cherry Run Road, Rimersburg RD 1, a retired coal miner who lived and worked all his life in the Rimersburg area, died in his home Saturday evening following an extended illness.
He was born in Madison Township, Clarion County, January 20, 1883, a son of the late Logan R. and Catherine Fair Bowser.
He was married November 23,1910, to the former Nellie E. Shields. Mr. and Mrs. Bowser celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary this past November.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Rimersburg. He also was a member of Local 1833 of the United Mine Workers of America at Millers Eddy.
Surviving along with his wife, Mrs. Nellie Bowser, are three daughters, Mrs. Zona B.Voltz of Rimersburg, Mrs. Maurice (Dorothy L.) Bonnett of Butler and Phyllis M. Bowser of Mt. Lebanon ; two grandchildren and four great - grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Carrie Conner of Rimersburg RD2, and a niece and three nephews. A brother, Emmett Bowser, is deceased.
Friends may call any time at the J. D. Miller Funeral Home in Rimersburg, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7to 9 pm today and up until the time of the funeral services, at 2:30 pm Tuesday in the funeral home. Rev. J. D. Schrecengost, pastor of the First United Methodist Church in Rimersburg, and Rev. Bruce Hankey, retired United Methodist minister, will officiate. Interment will be in the Rimersburg Cemetery.
