Kyle Rogers, age 81, retired farmer, died at his home here in Lagoda at 4:30 o'clock this afternoon after a serious illness of a year. He had been in failing health for several years, infirmities of old age finally claiming his life today.

Mr Rogers was born 4 Nov 1848, in Botetourt county, Virginia, the son of Alex and Catherine Rogers. He was married three times, the first on September 20, 1870 to Emma Bowen, who died September 27, 1876. He later was united in marriage in 1884 to Sarah E McCrery, who preceded him in death on August 18, 1904. His third wife was Mary Miller, to whom he was married on September 15, 1914. The latter survives the deceased.

Mr Rogers came to Indiana when he was twelve years old, after which he spent the remainder of his life in Montgomery and Boone counties. He had lived in Lagoda for a number of years and was well known throughout this part of the county. He had been a member of the local Christian church since 1916.

Besides the widow, the survivors are three daughters by his first marriage, Mrs. George Spencer, of near Lagoda; Mrs. Charles E Bell, of Walloway, Oregon; and Mrs. Bert White, of near New Castle; two brothers, Samuel, of near Lebanon, and Robert, of New Ross; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Kernodle, of North Salem, and Mrs. Alice Williams, of Jacksonville, Florida; one half-sister, Mrs. Edna Morthew, of Crawfordsville; three grandsons, and three great-grandsons.

The family has requested that no flowers be sent. The services will be held at 1:30 o'clock on Wednesday afternoon at the Christian church here, with the Rev S G Smith, pastor of the Parkersburg church in charge. Burial will be in the Inlow Cemetery, three miles northeast of Ladoga.
