WEST- Nancy Jane West, aged 78 years, died Sunday evening, April 4, 1926, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Sadie Harris. Death was due to infirmities of advanced years. Funeral from the residence of C.M. Harris, 507 South B St., at 2:30 o'clock p.m. Tuesday, April 6. Interment in Beacon Cemetery.

NANCY JANE WEST
Nancy Jane (Smith) West was born January 18, 1948 in Scotland County, Missouri, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Giles Smith. After her marriage, she came to make her home in this state for more than fifty years. There were six children born to her, all of whom survive her. They are: Mrs. Annie Martin of Oskaloosa, Iowa, Sam Johnson of Des Moines, Iowa, Mrs. C.M. Harris of Oskaloosa, Iowa, James West of Omaha, Nebraska, Mrs. Ona Heaverlo of Oskaloosa, Iowa, and Mrs. Abbie Hall of Chicago. There are also ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. For some years she has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Charles Harris in Oskaloosa. For some months before her death she had been ill and unable to care for herself. Early she united with the Methodist church and according to her best understanding she embodied those qualities that made virtue and grace minister to her faith. The end came peacefully on Sunday evening, April 4, Easter Sunday, 1926, at the age of 78 years, 2 months and 16 days. Funeral service was held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C.M. Harris, 507 South B St., Tuesday afternoon, April 6, conducted by Dr. F.T. Mayer-Oakes, pastor of the Congregational church. Interment was made in Forest Cemetery.
