Mary Jane Dolan, daughter of John and Jane Porterfield Guthrie, was one of a family of eleven children. She was born near Ontario, Richland County, Ohio, Sept. 3, 1845. In March 1848 her parents moved to Morrow County, Ohio, locating one-half mile east of the Steam Corners. Sept. 19, 1852, her parents located on a farm now called Bakertown in Jefferson Twp, remaining there until March 1857 when they went back to Morrow County, Ohio, locating one-half mile north of Johnsville, and in March 1862 they returned to Noble County purchasing a farm one mile and a half south of Albion where her father, mother and one brother died.
She married James Dolan Oct. 29, 1869. He died Sept. 30, 1909. She died in Wolf Lake at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles Crandall Oct. 29, 1913, aged 68 years, 1 month and 26 days. She leaves two daughter, two sons, four grandchildren, one great-grandchild; and one brother.
