Erinsville is where Sarah was baptized however the Cavanaugh family farm was the south half of Lot 31, Concession IV, Hungerford Tp., Hastings Co., Ontario, Canada. Sarah would most likely have been born either on the farm or at a local midwife's place in the nearby village of Marlbank (also in Hungerford Tp.). The 1861 Census of Canada noted that there were no churches in that area of Hungerford so the Cavanaugh family attended Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary RC Church in Erinsville, Sheffield Tp. (now part of Stone Mills Tp.), United Counties of Lennox and Addington - just across the township/county line.
