Becky was the daughter of Myer and Joyce "Mears" Myers. She married Jacob Mordecai on March 21, 1798, in Warrenton, NC. Her half-sister, Judith, was Jacob's first wife who died in 1796. Becky and Jacob became the parents of seven children.

In 1819, Jacob and Becky retired from teaching and sold the school. They moved to "Spring Farm" near Richmond, VA. The farm did not prove to be profitable, and as the result of several business reversals, the farm was sold in 1831. They moved into Richmond town, where they lived out the rest of their lives. Jacob died in 1838 and Becky survived until 1863, although she was an invalid and blind from 1855 onward.
Becky expired "calmly and quietly" from the natural decline of strength due to old age, but in full possession of her mental faculties; happy to be released from the contemplation of the dreadful civil strife (Civil War) and piously resigned to the Will of God.
Her step-son, Samuel, wrote: "A few minutes before seven o'clock this morning our dear and good mother breathed her last. We may truly say that every virtue that constitutes a spotless character were combined in her, -- a better or a purer spirit never breathed."
