Glenn Calvin Smith, 76, of St. Elmo died at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon while visiting a neighbor.

He was born June 18,1899, in Fayette county, a son of Albert and Melinda Lee Smith. He married Gladys Nowlin on April 15, 1922 in Vandalia.

He was a member of Herrick Christian church.

Surviving are his wife; son, Albert William of Magnolia, N.J.; Daughters, Mrs. Mildred Kohl of Cambridge, Ohio; Mrs. Eunice Jean May of Clinton; Mrs. Rosalyn Stine and Mrs. Janet McEndollar, both of Loogootee; Mrs. Letta Lou Morris and Mrs. Judy Barnick, both of St. Elmo; Brother Lloyd of Odell. 25 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.

Four brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Brown-May funeral home, St. Elmo, with visitation after 5 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Sidener Cemetery.
