GULFCREST - Leon Nelson Booth, a native and resident of Gulfcrest, died Saturday. He was 81.
He attended Fellowship Baptist Church in Chunchula and retired after 42 years with Alabama Dry Dock and Shipbuilding Co as a carpenter foreman. He also served in the U.S. Navy and was a World War II veteran.
Survivors include two sons, Nelson Booth and Franklin Booth, both of Gulfcrest; one daughter Hazel Odom of Citronelle; two brothers, L.T. Booth of Citronelle and Frank Booth Jr. of Theodore; and two sisters, Jewel Malone and Catherine Brown, both of Chunchula.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at Freeman Funeral Home in Citronelle. The funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Gulfcrest Cemetery in Gulfcrest. Robert B. Duff Sr.
