DEATH CLAIMS CHARLES BALDWIN
On January 1st, Charles Baldwin passed away at his home in Austin. He had suffered from cancer of the stomach for three months and death came as a relief to his sufferings. He was born in Provo, October 10, 1858, has been a resident of Monroe most ot of the time in the last twenty years. He married Amelia Robinson in 1878 and they have been blessed with ten children. Seven of them, with his widow are living to mourn his death. They are as follows: Mrs. Amelia Baldwin, widow; two sons, Roy Baldwin of Torrey, Wayne county, Jesse Baldwin of Wellington and five daughters, Mrs. Nora Terry of Delta, Mrs. Mary Jane Madsen and Mrs. Ida Winget of Monroe, Mrs. Amelia Jensen of Richfield and Mrs. Kathleen Riley of Salt Lake City.
Funeral services were held in the Monroe North ward meeting house Thursday. Bishop Walter Lundgreen conducted the services. The North ward choir rendered the following songs, chosen by the bereaved family: "0 My Father," "Nearer Home." "Bury Me Near The Old Home," and "Lead Me Gently Home Father." The speakers were Jos A. Smith, Charles R. Wing and Bishop Walter Lundgreen, all giving consoling remarks to the bereaved family. Interment was in the Monroe cemetery.
