Former Pro Football Player Dies at His Pensacola Home
Sam Goldman, 61, who played with four National Football League teams, died at his Pensacola resident Wednesday. Goldman, a native of Cleveland, Ohio, had been been a resident of Pensacola since 1945. He played football with the Washington Redskins, the Chicago Cardinals, Boston Yanks and Detroit Lions. He attended John Adams High School in Cleveland, Howard College in Birmingham and Ohio State University.

Sam Goldman, 61, of Bayou Blvd., died Wednesday at his residence. Mr. Goldman was a native of Cleveland, Ohio, and attended John Adams High School, Howard College and Ohio State University. He played professional football with the Washington Redskins, Chicago Cardinals, Boston Yanks and the Detroit Lions, and was a member of the National Football League. He had been a resident of Pensacola since 1945, was a member of B'nai Israel Synagogue, B'nai Israel Friendship Club, president of Mens Club at B'nai Israel and was general manager of Southern Scrap & Waste Container. Survivors include his wife, Anne Goldman of Pensacola; a daughter, Sharon Weisberg of Scarsdale, N.V.; a son, Gary Goldman of Manhattan, NY; a grandson; his father, Abe Goldman of Deerfield Beach; three sisters, Mary Vincent, Ann Kramer and Shirley Brouman, both of Cleveland. Burial will be at B'nai Israel Cemetery.
