Cari Ann Cunningham, age 33, affectionately known as "Miss Cari," went to be with the Lord on Wednesday Nov. 12, 2008, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Celebration of life Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Bonner Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends at a visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening. also at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Kansas City Hospice in care of the funeral home. Cari was born on Aug. 14, 1975 in Kansas City, Kan., she was a lifelong resident of Bonner Springs and graduated from Bonner Springs High School in 1993. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Mandie, Heather and Tiffany Cunningham in 1992; her father, Lynn Cunningham in 1996; her niece, Brittany Cunningham in 1995; her maternal grandparents, Everett and Ada Gossage; paternal grandparents, Forest and Maybelle Cunningham; and paternal step grandfather, Hershel Sawyers. Survivors include her loving parents, Ray and Debbie Sawyers of the home; two sisters, Jennifer Bartholomew and husband Scott of Bonner Springs and Christina Jinks and husband Larry of Warsaw, Mo.; two brothers, Charles Sawyers and wife Kristal of Warsaw, and Carl Sawyers and wife Mary of Edwards, Mo.; paternal step grandparents, May and Denny Brown of Atchison, Kan.; 14 nieces and nephews, Jacob, Jasmine and Jada Neu, Sarah and Samantha Bartholomew, Tyler Bright, Cierra and Morgan Jinks, Tyler Lynch, Melissa, Alexis and Mariah Sawyers, Wyatt and Lorraine Sawyers and one nephew on the way, several loving aunts and uncles, cousins and friends. Miss Cari loved spending her days with her nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the entire staff at Kansas City Hospice for their care and support.
