Monnie Higgins Hensley
Monnie Higgins Hensley, age 86, of Fox Creek, N.C. went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at Madison Manor Nursing Center.
A native of Yancey County, she was a daughter of the late Gus and Dollie Silvers Higgins and the wife of the late Clarence Hensley.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Hudgins; two sisters: Lydie Hensley and Margie Higgins and four brothers: Joe, Murph, Lee, and Luther Higgins. Monnie was a homemaker and a member Higgins Baptist Church.
Surviving is a daughter, Grace Davis and husband, Boyd, of Tipton Hill and a son, David Hensley and wife, Janie, of Fox Creek; a brother, Shelby Higgins and wife, Edgel, of Greenville, TN; five grandchildren: Keith Hensley, Mary Lynn Norton and husband, David, Melanie Hensley, Brian Hensley and Scotty Hensley and one great-grandchild, D. J. Norton.
Burial will follow in the Hensley Cemetery on Fox Creek.
