DEATH COMES TO LEWELLEN MOTHER SUNDAY MORNING

Katherine Stokey was born at Victor, Colo., on October 6, 1896, and passed away at her home near Lewellen on Sunday, July 19, 1931, at the age of 31 years. 9 months and 13 days. She was married in Denver, Colo., on December 21, 1911, to Nick Stokey, and to the union were born thirteen children, one of whom passed away in infancy. Those remaining to mourn with their father the loss of their loved one are Ed, Joseph, Mary, Melvin, John, Charles, Roy, Raymond, Lucy, Fritz and Herbert. She also leaves six sisters and three brothers.

Affiliating early in life with the Christian church in Longmont, Colo., she remained faithful to that creed throughout her life.

Services were held in Grace Lutheran church in Lewellen Monday afternoon, at 2:00 o'clock, Rev. W. M. Daubenspeck, Pastor, delivering the comforting sermon to the numerous friends gathered there to pay a last tribute to a good mother who had gone to her heavenly reward. Home Undertaking parlors of this city were in charge, burial taking place in the Ash Hollow cemetery.
